Guiliana M. Hillgrube Remembered After Adirondack Plane Crash Near Harrietstown That Also Claimed Two Family Members
Guiliana M. Hillgrube, a two-year-old child, died Monday night after a 1976 Piper Aerostar went down in the Adirondack wilderness near Harrietstown, New York.
The aircraft departed Adirondack Regional Airport around 10:36 p.m. and reached about 100 feet before radio contact ended.
Emergency crews later found the wreckage in dense woods near Route 186 along the Adirondack Rail Trail, where all three people aboard were pronounced dead.
Guiliana traveled with 33-year-old Gabriella M. Hillgrube of Forked River and Gabriella’s father, a local doctor who piloted the aircraft.
Friends and neighbors in Ocean County remembered the family as warm, close, and deeply valued by the people around them.
The National Transportation Safety Board, Federal Aviation Administration, and New York State Police continue to review the final moments of the flight.
