Ohenewaa Esi Blake Remembered As Family Seeks Support For Funeral And Final Arrangements After July 8, 2026 Passing
Ohenewaa Esi Blake, known to many as Esi, died on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, after sepsis and sudden heart complications.
Esi had spent about a month and a half in the hospital before a recent transfer to a nursing facility.
At the time, Esi lived in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, while Mickayla Blake and much of the family lived states away in Reno, Nevada.
Mickayla Blake organized a fundraiser created today, Wednesday, July 15, 2026, to help cover cremation costs, travel expenses to Wisconsin, and a small celebration of life.
The fundraiser had raised $750 toward a $6,000 goal through 16 donations.
Family members remembered Esi with care as they worked through final arrangements and invited support from the community during this difficult time.
