Jack Cheung, Sydney Car Enthusiast and Mechanic, Remembered After Fatal Incident in Carlingford as Police Continue Inquiry

Family, friends, and Sydney’s automotive community mourn Jack Cheung, a semi-professional driver and mechanic found dead in a vehicle on North Rocks Road, Carlingford, shortly after 7 a.m. on Wednesday.

Emergency personnel attended the property and pronounced Cheung dead at the scene as police began an extensive inquiry.

Detectives continue to review forensic evidence, speak with witnesses, and examine CCTV and dashcam material from the surrounding area.

Acting Superintendent Michael Marinello said investigators view the incident as isolated and continue working to establish the circumstances and motive.

Friends and car club members remember Cheung as respected, loved, and generous with mechanical knowledge.

Cheung’s landlord described Cheung as a lovely person who enjoyed working on cars, while others shared memories of dedication to motorsports, performance vehicles, and close friendships.

Police continue to ask anyone with information from the area to contact authorities as the inquiry remains active.
