Shelby, Michigan Community Mourns Hondo Henrickson, 43, After Mason County Swimming Pool Incident On July 14, 2026
Hondo Henrickson, a 43-year-old resident of Shelby, Michigan, passed away after a swimming pool incident at a residence in Summit Township, Mason County, on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.
The Mason County Sheriff’s Department said Hondo entered the pool headfirst and did not resurface, prompting family members to enter the water and seek help.
Riverton Fire Department firefighters helped bring Hondo from the pool, and first responders began lifesaving care before EMS transported Hondo to Corewell Hospital in Ludington.
Medical personnel continued efforts to save Hondo, but Hondo later passed away, leaving family, friends, and the Shelby community in deep sorrow.
